InordertousetheEK80theProcessorUnitmustbeconnectedtooneormore
transceivers,andeachofthesemustinturnbeconnectedtooneormoretransducers.This
transceiver/transducer-combinationisreferredtoasa"channel".Eachchannelmustbe
installedbeforeitcanbeputtouse.
Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:
•TheEK80installationiscompletewithallcablesconnected.
•Thetransceiverhasbeenpoweredup.
•Thesoftwarelicenseforeachtransceiverhasbeeninstalledandactivated.
•TheEthernetadapterintheProcessorUnithasbeensetupwithauniqueIPaddress.
•AllrelevanttransducershavebeeninstalledontheTransducerpageintheInstallation
dialogbox.
Context
TheTransceiverInstallationparameterscontroltheinstallationanddisconnectionof
transceivers.Everytimethepageisopened,theEK80softwareautomaticallyperformsa
searchontheEthernetnetworkfortransceivers.
Thephrasefrequencychannelisusedtoidentifythecombinationofatransceiver,
transducersandthefrequenciesoffered.
ThefrequencychannellistonthetopoftheTransceiverInstallationpageprovidesyouwith
anoverviewofthefrequencychannelscurrentlyavailable.
Ifyouhavemanytransceiversconnectedyoucanchangethesizeofthedialogbox,oryou
canusethetwoarrowsontherighthandsideofthelisttoscrollupanddown.
•Busy:Thefrequencychannelisalreadyinuse,probablybyanotherechosounderonthe
samenetwork.Youcannotconnecttothischannel.
•Installed:ThisfrequencychannelisconnectedtoyourEK80system.
•Lost:Thisfrequencychannelcannotbeused.
•Available:Thisfrequencychannelisvacantandreadyforuse.
Procedure
1ObservetheMainmenu.
ItsdefaultlocationisontherightsideoftheEK80presentation.
2ClicktheSetupicon.
TheiconislocatedundertheMainmenu.ItisusedtoopentheSetupmenu.
