Duetoitsmodulardesign,theEK80systemcanbesetupinavarietyofcongurationsto
suitindividualneedsforoperationalfrequencies,transducersandfunctionality.
Itisnotpracticaltodenespeciccableplansforallthesecongurations.Toillustratethe
varietyofcongurations,thefollowingbasiccableplansareprovided:
•Standardtopsidesetupwithacomputer
•StandardtransceiversetupwithtwoWideBandTransceiver(WBT)units.
TheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)usedbytheSimradEK80canbesetuptoworkwith
maximumfour-4-xedoperationalfrequencies.Thismeansthatyoucanusefoursingle
frequency/singlebeamtransducers,twodualfrequencytransducers,oronesplitbeam
transducer.
InordertotakeadvantageoftheadvancedfunctionalityprovidedbytheEK80(size
distribution,shpositionandechoposition),itisnormallysetupwithsplitbeam
transducers.ThismeansthatoneWideBandTransceiverisrequiredforeachtransducer.
