Reducingrattlenoise
Ensurethatnopartsnearthetransducercanrattleasaresultofwateroworvibrations.
Reducinginterference
Interferencefromthetransmissionpulsesfromotherhydroacousticinstrumentsonboardthe
vesselisdifculttoavoid.
Theproblemmaybereducedbychoosingtheworkingfrequenciescarefullyandtosome
extentbyseparatingthedifferenttransducers.
Onvesselswithalargenumberofseparatehydroacousticsystemsinstalledandin
simultaneoususe,aseparatesynchronizingsystem(forexampletheK-Sync)shouldbe
considered.
Reducingelectricalnoise
•Placethetransducercablesinmetalconduitsfromasclosetothetransduceraspossible,
andallthewaytotherearsideofthetransceiver.
•Makesurethatallunitsareproperlygrounded,asthisisimportanttoavoidelectrical
noise.
•Youmustuseshieldedcableswithcorrectgrounding.
•SeparateEK80cablesfromothercableswithheavycurrentsortransients.
•Placeallhighvoltagepowercablesinmetalconduits.
