Engine Mechanical: 1D-42
• The cylinder head covers can be distinguished by
radiator mounting hole “A”.
• Place the cylinder head covers on the cylinder heads.
• Fit new gaskets (1) and (2) to each head cover bolts.
CAUTION
!
Use the new gaskets to prevent oil leakage.
NOTE
The metal side of the gasket (1) must face to
the bolt flange.
• Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts (3) in ascending
order of numbers to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Cylinder head cover bolt (a): 14 N·m (1.4 kgf-m,
10.0 lbf-ft)
Spark Plug
Install the spark plugs. Refer to “Spark Plug Cap and
Spark Plug Removal and Installation in Section 1H
(Page 1H-5)”.
Exhaust Pipe
• Install the gasket (1) and rear exhaust pipe (2).
CAUTION
!
Use the new gasket to prevent exhaust gas
leakage.
• Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts (3) to the specified
torque.
Tightening torque
Exhaust pipe bolt (a): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lbf-
ft)
Water Union
• Apply engine coolant to the O-ring (1).
CAUTION
!
Use a new O-ring (1) to prevent engine
coolant leakage.
