FMS DEGRADED OPERATION
FMGC RESETS or FAILURES

INDEPENDENT mode
This may occur after several attempts of resynchronization or when
data base is loaded in the FMSs.
The two FMSs are healthy but in disagreement on some criteria, or
cannot communicate and synchronize. Each FMGC operates
independently.
INDICATIONS IN THE COCKPIT
MCDUs:
− INDEPENDENT OPERATION scratchpad message (amber) is
displayed.
− The front panel annunciator IND is illuminated on the two MCDUs.
