Remote Filtering the Hydraulic System

Hose, front motor to rear motor
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower any attachments to the ground,
engage the parking brake, remove the key from the ignition, place wheel chocks
in front and back of the wheels.
IMPORTANT
Cleanliness is necessary whenever working on the hydraulic system. Ensure
that hydraulic components, hose connections, and fittings are clean.
Note: The filter assembly has both o-ring face seal and JIC flare type hose ends that
are found on all 4000 series machines. Use the appropriate connection, ensure that
all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
2. Disconnect the hydraulic hose
and install the high pressure filter assembly in-
line. The fluid will flow from the front motor through the high pressure filter, check
valve and into the rear motor.
Note: To prevent the power unit from shutting off, an operator must be present in the
seat.
3. Place the high/low shift handle in the neutral position and move the neutral assist
lever to the O
FF position.
CAUTION
Running the engine above the recommended rpm range can cause the filter to
be damaged by an excessive rate of oil flow. This can release damaging
particles into the closed-loop drive circuit causing severe damage.
4. Start the engine and set the engine speed between 2,000 and 2,500 RPM.
