4. Conguration
Thischapterdescribeshowtoadaptthefunctionandperformanceofthisproducttosuitspecic
applications. Because multiple devices are connected to Fieldbus, it is important to carefully
considerthedevicerequirementsandsettingswhenconguringthesystem.Specically,the
following steps must be taken.
(1) Network design
Determine the devices to be connected to Fieldbus and check the capacity of the power supply.
(2) Networkdenition
Determine the PD tag and node addresses for all devices.
(3) Denitionofcombiningfunctionblocks
Determine how function blocks are combined.
(4) Setting tags and addresses
Set the PD Tag and node addresses for each device.
(5) Communication setting
Set the link between communication parameters and function blocks.
(6) VFDparameterconguration
Set the parameter for function block VFD.
The following section describes each step of the procedures in this order. The use of a dedicated

4.1 Network Design
z Power supply:
Fieldbus requires a dedicated power supply. It is recommended that current capacity be well
overthetotalvalueofthemaximumcurrentconsumedbyalldevices(includingthehost).
Conventional DC current of 4 - 20 mA cannot be used as is.
z Terminator:
Fieldbus requires two dedicated terminators. Refer to the supplier for details of terminators
that are attached to the host.
z Field device:
Connectstheelddevicesnecessaryforinstrumentation.Thisproducthaspassedthe
interoperability test conducted by the FieldComm Group. In order to smoothly start Fieldbus,
it is recommended that the devices used satisfy the requirements of the above test.
z Host:
