24.5.2 MVR Co nfig ura tion Exa m ple
The following figure shows a network example where ports 1, 2 and 3 on the Switch belong to VLAN 1. In
addition, port 7 belongs to the multicast group with VID 200 to receive multicast traffic (the Ne ws and
Mo vie channels) from the remote streaming media server, S. Computers A, B and C in VLAN 1 are able
to receive the traffic.

To configure the MVR settings on the Switch, create a multicast VLAN in the MVR screen and set the
receiver and source ports.

To set the Switch to forward the multicast group traffic to the subscribers, configure multicast group
settings in the G ro up C o nfig ura tio n screen. The following figure shows an example where two IPv4
multicast groups (Ne ws and Movie ) are configured for the multicast VLAN 200.
