– Remove screws -1-.
– Remove the screw -2- and remove the power steering pump

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
♦
Always replace seals.
♦
Before installing new pump on intake side, fill hydraulic oil and
screw in by hand until oil escapes on pressure side.
♦
Charge air system hose supports and hoses must be free of
oil and grease before installation.
♦
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate to
the model, refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Turn the hub by hand until oil runs out of the pressure side.
– To assist attachment of vane pump, drive threaded sleeve for
rear bolt back slightly in bracket.
– Install the power steering pump.
– Tighten the front screws.
– Tighten the rear screws.
– Screw belt pulley onto vane pump.
– Secure the intake hose. Note location of suction hose on pow‐
er steering pump.
– Use a new seal, refer to -Item 8- ⇒ Item 8 (page 327) or o-ring
-Item 10- ⇒ Item 10 (page 329) .
– Tighten the pressure line threaded connector.

– Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
– Install ribbed belt and check alignment of ribbed belt, refer to
⇒ Rep. Gr. 13 .
– Top off Hydraulic Oil .
– Check power steering fluid level, refer to
⇒ “4.1 Power Steering, Checking Hydraulic Oil Level”,
page 310 .
– Bleed steering system, refer to
⇒ “4.2 Steering System, Bleeding after Replacing”,
page 311 .
