Gearcase
Gearcase Removal and Installation
Refer to the following images for correct shift actu-
ator cable routing.
Route the shift actuator cable and connect it to the
engine harness.
IMPORTANT: Install one tie strap to secure the
shift actuator cable and vent hose to the exhaust
housing. Do NOT pinch the vent hose by over-
tightening the tie strap
Install the remaining tie straps to retain the shift
actuator cable.
 WARNING
Failure to properly tighten gearcase nuts with
a torque wrench could lead to gearcase dam-
age or loss, resulting in loss of control and
possible personal injury.
Nut torque should be checked regularly,
especially in high-speed applications, or any
time propeller damage has occurred.
