22. NAVTEX Messages
22.1 Introduction
NAVTEX (Navigational Telex) is an international automated medium frequency direct-printing service for delivery
of navigational and meteorological warnings and forecasts, as well as urgent marine safety information to ships.
NAVTEX messages can be read and written in ECDIS.
The position of NAVTEX data can be marked on the screen, with the NAVTEX icon. If the ECDIS recognizes the
position, the NAVTEX icon appears at that position. To show the NAVTEX icon, open the Symbol Display dialog
box, select the Targets page and check Position in the Events window.
