Scheduler
The Scheduler allows you to configure a switch of content for services provisioned with two
different sources.
SCP
Secure Copy.
SCPC
Single channel per carrier.
SCPC NIM
An SCPC NIM provides connection with narrowband communications channels. It supports 2– 7
Mbaud.
Scrambler
A device which introduces a seemingly random arrangement in the incoming video and audio to
control access. Scrambling is reversed by an authorized descrambler which understands the
scrambling arrangement used. See also

SCS
SimulCrypt Synchronizer. A Harmonic system that enables the use of multiple CAS systems
within a headend. The SCS uses the DVB SimulCrypt standard to support multiple
ECM ’s per
service.
SCTE-35 count
The total count of DPI splice points (in and out), which the encoder has inserted into the video
stream.
SD
Standard Definition.
SDI
Serial Digital Interface.
SDT
Service Description Table. This DVB table describes services contained within a particular
transport stream. The services might be part of the actual transport stream or part of other
transport streams, which the table_id identifies. See also
SI .
SDX
Service Deployment System (Juniper® Networks).
