MULTIPOINT CONSIDERATIONS
Having selected multipoint you must now make the series of decisions illustrated in figure 7-6.
Before
starting, it is necessary for you to know several definitions unique to multipoint
configurations:
• Daisy
Chain -A group of terminals connected to a single modem is said to be daisy chained
because they are connected in series.
•
First Multipoint Terminal (or Cable) - The first terminal or cable in a daisy-chained group,
starting from the modem.
• Daisy-Chain
Terminal (or Cable) - Any terminal or cable in a daisy-chained group, other
than the first one.
