The
International
Business Machines Corporation's (IBM's) 3270 Information Display Sys-
tem
has
found wide applications
in
a
variety
of businesses. However, some
users
have
also
found
it
desirable to
have
other
computer-related products
manufactured
by different com-
panies. As IBM
equipment
responds to
its
own
character
codes
and
transmission
commands,
it
has
been difficult to ttmix" product lines.
With
its
dual
personality,
the
HP
2625A may function over
Port
1
as
an
Hewlett-Packard
terminal
interacting
with
Hewlett-Packard products while
it
functions over
Port
2
as
an
IBM
3276 Control
Unit
within
an
IBM environment.
You
may also connect
the
2625A over
Port
1
to non
HP
systems which
support
ASCII asynchronous point-to-point
data
communications
in
character
mode.
This appendix describes how to
install
your
terminal
into
an
IBM environment, how to
configure
the
terminal
for IBM mode,
and
differences
in
operation between
the
IBM 3276
and
the
HP
2625A.
It
doesn't
attempt
to
rewrite
existing IBM documentation. Therefore, you
should
