COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM (Optional)
The following information and instructions will briefly cover components, features and opera-
tions of the Eaton Vorad Collision Warning System, a sophisticated, computerized component that
monitors road conditions in front and to the side of the motorhome. The Eaton Vorad system operates
in darkness, fog, snow, rain, dust and smoke. This system is designed as a driving aid and is not a sub-
stitute for safe driving practices.
CWS Components
The antenna assembly transmits and receives low power, high frequency radar signals for analysis.
The antenna can detect moving objects up to 350 feet, and stationary objects up to 220 feet, monitor-
ing up to 20 vehicles at one time.
Side sensors are located at or near the blind spot areas. The side sensor display utilizes two indicator
lights to monitor objects within those perimeters. Side sensor displays are typically mounted on the pil-
lar, within the same line of sight as the side view mirror.
The ambient light display measures surrounding light to adjust brightness of the indicators for max-
imum visibility.
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) processes all information from the antenna assembly, side sen-
sors, internal sensor, speedometer, brake circuit, turn signals and the motorhome data base to communi-
cate key information via the indicator lights on the driver display unit. The CPU stores an optional
Vehicle Information Management System of recorded data that can be downloaded for record of trip
events. The CPU is also capable of storing digital information similar to the 'black box' used on air-
craft.
