Driver Display Unit
The driver display unit is typically mounted in or on the dashboard within reach of the motorhome
operator.
When the ignition is engaged, all indicators light up for five seconds. The green ON indicator
remains active following the initial system check. The Eaton Vorad System tracks speed and location of
up to 20 vehicles, using the most potentially dangerous vehicle as the basis for alert by factoring dis-
tance, speed, and relative angle. A series of audible and visual alerts are available within the system.
Indicator Lamps:
A danger alert comprising illumination of the three lights, along with an audible alarm, is designed to
warn the operator of a potentially hazardous obstacle ahead of the moving motorhome. The danger
alert is also activated when the system detects a moving vehicle ahead that is moving 20% slower than
the speed of the motorhome.
• The yellow light illuminates when an object is detected within 350 feet ahead of the
motorhome, and remains on as long as the object is within that perimeter.
• The yellow and orange lights illuminate when the vehicle detected ahead is within range
that the motorhome will travel in three seconds. A warning tone will sound at two seconds.
Vehicles moving in range at a faster rate of speed will not cause the warning tone to sound.
• The red, yellow and orange lights will illuminate, along with an audible warning,
when the vehicle ahead is within range that the motorhome will enter in one second.
• A repeated alarm will sound, regardless of motorhome speed, when the motorhome and
potential hazard are within one-half second of collision.
