Detroit Engine Coolant Additive (DDC Series 60):
Fully formulated products contain SCA and are required to protect the
cooling system from fouling, solder blooming and general corrosion. The
coolant filter is required to protect the coolant system from abrasive
materials, debris and recipitated coolant additives.
Supplement coolant additives, or equivalent, are used to prevent cylin-
der liner pitting, corrosion and scale deposits in the cooling system. Use
the correct Power Cool coolant filter to maintain the recommended SCA con-
centration in the system. Maintain the correct concentration by changing the
service filter and replacing filter according to test strip results.
CAUTION:
Insufficient concentration of the coolant additives will result in cylinder liner pitting
and engine failure. The SCA concentration must not fall below or exceed the manu-
factuerers recommendations as determined by 3-way test strip check.
Use the correct Power Cool coolant filter to maintain the recommended SCA concentration in the
system. Maintain the correct concentration by changing the service coolant filter as indicated by the test
strip result at every oil change.
NOTE:
Refer to OEM manual for maintenance instructions. Coolant must be changed
every two years.
NOTE:
The correct filter is determined by Detroit Diesel Corporation. Refer to the
Detroit Diesel Operators Guide for additional information.
