4.12 Wired Hotspot
Hotspot functionality allows service providers or shop owners to provide Internet access to guest users.
Hotspots are often found at restaurants, train stations, airports, libraries, coffee shops, book stores, fuel
stations, and other public places. Users will not have Internet access until they are authenticated. When a
user tries to access a web page through a browser, the request is redirected to a login page where the user
has to enter a valid login name and password. Upon successful authentication, the user is provided with full
Internet access until the session expires. Wired hotspots can be used where wireless connections are not
used or not feasible.
