ECU Replacement
Although the ne ed for ECU r eplacement is u nlikely, a
specific replacement procedure is required to ensure that
all essentia l da ta con tained within the original ECU is
transferred to the replacement ECU.
IMPORTANT: Refer to this proc edure and ca refully
foll
ow all instructions provided in Digital Wrench™.
1. Carefully follow the ECU r
eplacement instru ctions
provided in D igital Wr ench™ to en sure th at all
essential dat a cont ained within the original E CU is
transferred to the replacement ECU.
2. Remove the black plastic cover by lifting up on the tab.
Remove the retaining s
crew that attaches the ECU to
the left rear fender well.
3. With the ign ition turned off, d isconnect the wire
h
arness from the ECU. Lift the connector locking lever
and rotate it up u ntil the connector is free fro m the
ECU.
NOTE: Upon remov ing th e ECU c onnector, you
s
hould he ar a “clic k” whe n t he c onnector is f ully
open.
4. To in stall, r everse the pr ocedure an d tig hten the
mounting screws t
o specification.
NOTE: Upon ins talling t he ECU c onnector, y ou
shou
ld hea r a “click” when t he conn ector is f ully
closed.
ECU Replacement
1. Remove the (2) retaining screws holding the ECU.
2. With the ig nition turn ed off, disconnect the wir e
har
ness from the ECU.
3. To install, reverse the procedure and tighten screws
to specification.

10 in. lbs. (1.1 Nm)
