Wheel Installation
1. Verify the transmission is still in PARK (P).
2. Install th e wh eel hub, washe rs, an d hub n ut, if
p
reviously removed.
3. Place the wheel in the correct position on the wheel
h
ub. Be sure the valve stem is toward the outside and
rotation arrows on the t ire point towa rd fo rward
rotation.
4. Attach the wheel nuts and finger tighten them.
5. Carefully lower the vehicle to the ground.
6. Torque the whee l nuts and/or hub nut to the proper
tor
que specification listed in th e torque table at the
beginning of this section.
7. If hub nut was removed, install a ne
w cotter pin after
the hub nut has been tightened.
Tire Inspection
• Improper tire inflation may affect vehicle
maneuverability.
• When replacing a tire always use original
eq
uipment size and type.
• The use of non-standard size or type tires may
a
ffect vehicle handling.
Tire Tread Depth
Replace tires when tread depth is worn to 1/8" (3 mm) or
less
.
If wheels are improperly installed it could affect
vehicle handling and tire wear. On vehicles with
tapered rear wheel nuts, make sure tapered end
of nut goes into taper on wheel.

Operating with worn tires will increase the
possibility of the vehicle skidding easily with
possible loss of control.
Worn tires can cause an accident.
Always replace tires when the tread depth
m
easures 1/8", (.3 cm) or less.
