CLUTCH CENTER DISTANCE

Inspection

1. Remove the outer PVT cover, drive belt, drive clutch

and driven clutch as outlined in this chapter.

NOTE: The in ner PVT cover do es not nee d t o be

remov

ed to ch eck t he clutch center t o c enter

distance.

2. Install the Clutch Center Distan

ce Too l (PU-50658)

onto the crankshaft and transmission input shaft. The

pictures b elow show the too l (PU-50658) p roperly

installed.

3. If the tool fits as shown ab

ove, the clutch center to

center distance is correct.

4. If the tool does not fit as sh

own above, adjustment is

needed.

Adjustment

1. Remove the Clutch Cen ter Distance tool from th e

engine and transmission.

2. Remove the inner PVT Cover.

3. Loosen the (8) engine to transmission coupler bolts

(A)

4. Loosen th e (2 ) fasteners ( B) se curing the re ar

ansmission isolator to the vehicle frame.

5. With the engine and transmission mounting fasteners

loose, ins

tall the Clutch Center Dista nce T ool (PU-

50658) as shown in the inspection process.

Drive Clutch Bolt Installed
