TRANSMISSION SERVICE

Transmission Removal

1. If internal tra nsmission r epair is re quired, drain the

transmission lubricant (see Chapter 2).

2. Remove th e seats and engine ser vice p anel (see

apter 5).

3. Disconnect the (- ) n egative batter y cab le fro m the

ttery.

4. Raise and support the vehicle.

5. Remove rear wheels from the vehicle.

6. From th e r ight-hand fro nt wh eel well, locate the

opshaft roll pin. Use the Roll Pin Removal Tool (PN

2872608) to remove th e r oll pin from the fro nt

gearcase.

7. Remove the g ear sele ctor cap an d remove the

etaining screw and handle.

8. Remove the Torx screws retaining the center console

access the propshaft.

9. Slide prop shaft back far enough to remove it from the

ont gearcase input shaft splines.

10. Pull s harply fo rward to r emove th e p ropshaft fr om

transmission shaf

11. Remove th e r ear bu mper and cargo b ox as a n

ass

embly (see Chapter 5).

CAUTION

Correct Drive Clutch Puller P/N PA-48595

CAUTION

Serious injury may result if machine tips or falls.

Be sure machine is secure before beginning this

procedure. Always wear eye protection.
