assistqualifiedfieldtechnicians.
4.2SafetyPracticesandProvisions
4.2.1PreventingOverexposuretoRFEnergy
ToprotectagainstoverexposuretoRFenergy,installtheantennasoftheunitssoasto
provideandmaintainminimalseparationdistancesfromallpersons.
Whenthesystemisoperational,avoidstandingdirectlyinfrontoftheantenna.StrongRF
fieldsarepresentwhenthetransmitterison.TheODUmustnotbedeplo
yedinalocation
whereitispossibleforpeopletostandorwalkinadvertentlyinfrontoftheantenna.
4.2.2Grounding
AllRADWINproductsshouldbegroundedduringoperation.Inaddition:
AllODUsshouldbegroundedbyawirewithdiameterofatleast10AWG.
RADWIN2000+SeriesODUsmustbeproperlygroundedtoprotectagainstlightning.It
istheuser'sresponsibilitytoinstalltheequipmentinaccordancewithSection810of
theNationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPANo.701984orSection54oftheCanadian
ElectricalCode.Thesecodesdescribecorrectinstallationproceduresforgrounding
outdoorunits,masts,leadinwiringanddischargeunits.Italsolaysdownthesizeof
groundingconductorsandconnectionrequirementsforgrounding electrodes.RADWIN
2000+SeriesODUsmustbegroundedtoaProtectiveGroundinaccordancewiththe
LocalElectricalRegulations.TheRG45connectormustbeconnectedtotheground
shieldoftheCAT5ecable.
