ThischaptercoverstheproceduresforthehardwareinstallationandalignmentofaRADWIN
2000+Seriessectorinaccordancewithpriorplanning.(SeeSit eSurvey.)Itisintendedto
assistqualifiedfieldtechnicians.
4.2SafetyPracticesandProvisions
4.2.1PreventingOverexposuretoRFEnergy
ToprotectagainstoverexposuretoRFenergy,installtheantennasoftheunitssoasto
provideandmaintainminimalseparationdistancesfromallpersons.
Whenthesystemisoperational,avoidstandingdirectlyinfrontoftheantenna.StrongRF
fieldsarepresentwhenthetransmitterison.TheODUmustnotbedeplo
yedinalocation
whereitispossibleforpeopletostandorwalkinadvertentlyinfrontoftheantenna.
4.2.2Grounding
AllRADWINproductsshouldbegroundedduringoperation.Inaddition:
• AllODUsshouldbegroundedbyawirewithdiameterofatleast10AWG.
RADWIN2000+SeriesODUsmustbeproperlygroundedtoprotectagainstlightning.It
istheuser'sresponsibilitytoinstalltheequipmentinaccordancewithSection810of
theNationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPANo.70‐1984orSection54oftheCanadian
ElectricalCode.Thesecodesdescribecorrectinstallationproceduresforgrounding
outdoorunits,masts,lead‐inwiringanddischargeunits.Italsolaysdownthesizeof
groundingconductorsandconnectionrequirementsforgrounding electrodes.RADWIN
2000+SeriesODUsmustbegroundedtoaProtectiveGroundinaccordancewiththe
LocalElectricalRegulations.TheRG‐45connectormustbeconnectedtotheground
shieldoftheCAT‐5ecable.
