UserTypes: TheRADWINManagerprovides threelevelsofaccessinoneoftwoentry
modes.Toseethem,clickOptionsatanytimeintheLogonwindow(Figure 5‐
2above).Youareofferedanextendedlog‐onwindow:
• TheLocalConnectionmethodusesbroadcastpacketsto“discover”
theattachedradiounit.
• IfyoulogonusingLocalConnection,butyourphysicalconnectionis
notlocal,thenanyconfigurationyoucarryoutmayaffectotherlinks
inthenetwork.Donotdothis!
• Donotcarryoutthisprocedureusingamultihomedmanagingcom‐
puteralsoconnectedtoanetwork.Itwillfloodthenetworkwith
broadcastpack ets.Further,itwillthrowanyotherlinksonthenet‐
workintoInstallationorInactivemode.
• Asaprecaution,defaultlog‐onoverLocalConnectionisread‐only
mode.ChecktheRead/Writeenableboxtocarryoutinstallationpro‐
cedures.
•Networklogon(IPaddresstotheradiounit)isrecommended.
