TheHSSunitprovidesaconnectionbetweenRADWIN2000C+andRADWIN2000D+radio
unitsthatenablesserialhubsitesynchronization(formoredetailsonthevariousoptionsfor
hubsitesynchronization,see Chapter9,HubSiteSynchronization).TheHSSUnitisa
compact,weatherproof(IP67)connectorboxthatisinstalledatthesamelocationasthe
radiounits.Ithasamountingearonitsrearside,andcanbemountedonapoleorwallinthe
samemannerasanoutsideradiounitorantenna.SeeMountinganODU,GSU,orHSSfor
instructions.Allcollocatedunitsconnecttothisbox useanHSScable.Cablesinprepared
lengthsareavailableforpurchase.
AsingleHSSunitsupportsuptotencollocatedradios.Eachradioisconnectedtoaseparate
portontheHSS,andanyHSSportnotinuseismustbeclosedwithaprotectivecover.
