ThissynchronizationmodeisusediftheEK80isworkingbyitself,andwithno
synchronizationrequired.Thisisthedefaultsetting.TheEK80willoperateusing
itsinternalpingintervalparameters,independentofanysignalsarrivingatthe
synchronizationport.
•Master
ThismodeisusediftheEK80shallactasa"Master"unitinasynchronizedsystem.
Theperipheralhydroacousticsystem(s)willthenonlybepermittedtotransmit
whenenabledbytheEK80.Whenthismodeischosen,theEK80willrunusing
itsinternalpingintervalparameters,andtransmitexternaltriggersignalstothe
peripheralsystem(s)onthesynchronizationport.
•Slave
ThismodeisusediftheEK80shalltransmitonlywhenpermittedbyaperipheral
device.Whenthismodeischosen,theEK80willwaitforanexternaltriggerto
appearonthechosensynchronizationportbeforeeachping.Theperipheraldevice
maybeanyotherhydroacousticsystem(forexampleanechosounderorsonar),or
evenadedicatedsynchronisationsystem.
Note
Thesynchronizationmodeisnotxed.ItcanbechangedatanytimeduringEK80
operation.
