Thetractioncircuitoperatesessentiallythesameinreverseasitdoesinthe
forwarddirection.However,theowthroughthecircuitisreversed.Pushing
thebottomofthetractionpedalrotatesthepiston(traction)pumpswashplate
tocreateaowofoil.Thisoilisdirectedthroughthehydraulicmanifoldandon
tothefrontwheelmotorstodrivethewheelsinthereversedirection.Reverse
tractionpressureislimitedto25,000kPa(3625psi)bythereversetractionrelief
valve(R2)locatedinthepiston(traction)pump.
For4WDmachines,checkvalvesinthehydraulicmanifoldallowthehydraulic
uidtobypasstherearwheelmotors.Therearwheelsdonotprovidetractionin
reverse.
Hydraulicuidowingfromthewheelmotorsreturnstothepiston(traction)
pumpandiscontinuouslypumpedthroughtheclosedlooptractioncircuitaslong
asthetractionpedalispushedrearward.
Thechargecircuitandushingvalvefunctionthesameinreverseastheydoin
theforwarddirection.
