IMPORTANT
Airmustbepurgedfromthehydraulicsystemtoreducethechance
ofcomponentdamage.
Wheninitiallystartingthehydraulicsystemwithneworrebuiltcomponentssuch
aswheelmotors,pumps,orcylinders,itisimportantthatthehydraulicsystem
ischargedproperlytoremoveairfromthesystem.
IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated;refertoFlushingtheHydraulic
System(page5–55).
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandsetthekeyswitchtotheOFF
position.
2.Ensurethatallofthehydraulicconnectionsaresecuredtightly.
3.Ensurethatthehydraulictankisfull.Addthecorrectquantityandtypeof
hydraulicuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
4.Ifthetraction(piston)orgearpumpwasreplacedorrepaired,primethe
hydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page5–60).
WARNING
ReviewandfollowtheJackingInstructions(page1–6)beforelifting
themachine.
5.Raisethefrontwheelsof2WDmachines,orallofthewheelsfor4WD
machinesofftheoorandsupportthemachinewithjackstands.
6.Makesurethetractionpedalisinneutral.,thenstarttheengineandletitidle
atlowspeed.Thehydraulicpumpsshouldpickuphydraulicuidandll
thehydraulicsystem.Ifthereisnoindicationofthesystemllingwithin30
seconds,stoptheengineanddeterminethecause.
IMPORTANT
Checkhydraulictankuidlevelfrequentlywhilechargingthesystem
andadduidifnecessary.
7.Afterthehydraulicsystemstartstoshowthesignsofll,operatethedecklift
switchuntiltheliftcylindersmoveinandoutseveraltimes.
8.Ifthecylindersdonotmoveafter15secondsorthepumpemitsabnormal
sounds:
A.ImmediatelysetthekeyswitchtotheOFfposition.
B.Makesurethehydraulicuidlterorthesuctionlineisnotloose.
C.Checkforincorrecthoserouting.
D.Ensurethatthesuctionlineisnotblocked.
E.Makesurethechargereliefvalve(R3)isnotdamagedorblockedopen.
