GeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents
BeforeRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Beforeremovinganypartsfromthehydraulicsystem,parkthemachineon
alevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),engagetheparking
brake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Cleanthemachinebeforeyoudisconnect,remove,ordisassemblethe
hydrauliccomponents.
Note:Cleanlinessisnecessarywheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Ensurethatyoucleanthehydrauliccomponents,hoses,
connections,andttings.
3.Labelallthedisconnectedhydrauliclinesandhosesforproperinstallation
afterrepairsarecompleted.
4.Recordthepositionofthehydraulicttings(especiallyelbowttings)onthe
hydrauliccomponentsbeforeremoval.
Note:Marktheparts,ifnecessarybeforeremovalandensurethattheyare
alignedproperlywheninstallingthehydraulicttings,hoses,andtubes.
WARNING
Beforedisconnectingordoinganyworkonthehydraulicsystem,
releaseallthepressureinthesystem;refertoRelievingPressure
fromtheHydraulicSystem(page5–3).
5.Thehydraulicuidmaybehot.Becarefulwhenyouloosenandremove
thehydraulicsystemcomponents.
6.Installcleancapsorplugsonthehydrauliclines,hydraulicttings,and
componentsthatareleftopenorexposedtopreventhydraulicsystem
contamination.Caporplugtheopeningassoonastheopeningisexposed.
AfterRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary.Usethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedinthetraction
unitOperator'sManual.
IMPORTANT
Drainandllthehydraulictankandchangetheoillterifthe
componentfailureissevereorthesystemiscontaminated;referto
thetractionunitOperator’sManual.
2.LubricatetheO-ringsandsealswithcleanhydraulicuidbeforeinstalling
thehydrauliccomponents.
3.Removeallthecapsorplugsfromthehydraulictubes,hydraulicttings,and
componentsbeforeconnectingthem.
4.Usepropertighteningprocedureswheninstallingthehydraulichosesand
ttings;refertoInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal
