Theairconditioningsystemusedinthemachineoperatorcabconsistsofthe
followingcomponents:
•AcompressormountedontheleftsideoftheenginedrivenbyasingleV−belt.
•Acondenserassemblywithtwo(2)condenserfanslocatedoutsidetherear
ofthecabroofassembly.
•Anevaporator,adrier−receiverandanexpansionvalvemountedinthe
headlinerofthecab.
•Arefrigerantpressureswitch
•Athermostat
•Anevaporatorfreezeswitch
•3relays(condenserfans,airconditioningswitchsignal,compressorclutch)
•Thenecessaryhosesandtubesthatconnecttheairconditioningsystem
components.
•Ablowerfanmotorthatprovidesairmovementthroughtheevaporatorand
intothecab.Thefanmotorisacomponentofthemixingboxlocatedinthe
cabheadliner.Thefanmotorisalsousedforthecabheatingsystem.
•Operatorcontrolstoturntheairconditioningon,toadjustthefanspeedand
tocontrolthecabairtemperature.
AirConditioningPerformance
Thereareanumberoffactorsthatcanaffecttheperformanceofthemachineair
conditioningsystem.Toensurethatthesystemoperatesatitsbest,inspectthe
followingcomponents.
•Makesurethattheheatercontrolfullyclosestheheatervalveinthecab
headliner.
•Makesurethatthecondenserandevaporatornsarenotobstructedand
clean.
•Verifythatrefrigerantchargequantityandsystemoperatingpressuresare
correct.
•Makesurethatexposedmetalsurfacesinsidecabareinsulated.
•Iftheambienttemperaturesexceeds43C(110F)applyadditionalwindow
tintingtolowerthesolarheatloadtothecab.
