Theoptionalhazardswitchislocatedonthesteeringcolumncontrolpod.When
theforwardendofthehazardswitchisdepressed,powerissenttotheasher
moduletoilluminatethehazardlights(switchlightilluminated).Thehazardlights
willcontinuetoashuntiltheswitchisreturnedtotheOFF(rearward)position.
Thehazardswitchreceivespowerfroma15Ampfuselocatedinthecabpower
supplyharness(alongtheframecrossmemberinfrontoftheengine).
TestingtheHazardSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–64).
3.Removethesteeringcolumncontrolpodcover.
4.Disconnectthewireharnesselectricalconnectorfromthehazardswitch.
Checktheswitchandtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionand
cleanorrepairifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacethehazardswitchifnecessary.
7.Ifthehazardswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,check
thewireharness;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Connectthewireharnesstothehazardswitch.
9.Installthecontrolpodcover.
