Theseatswitchisnormallyopenandcloseswhentheoperatorisontheseat.
Theseatswitchislocateddirectlyundertheseatcushion.T estingtheswitch
canbedonewithoutremovingtheseatbydisconnectingtheseatswitchwire
harnessfromthemachinewireharness.
TheTDMdisplay/controllermonitorsthepositionoftheseatswitch.Theseat
switchispartofthemachinesafetyinterlocksystem.Usingtheseatswitch
position(openorclosed)andavarietyofotherinputs,theTDMdisplay/controller
managesavarietyofmachinefunctions.
TestingtheSeatSwitch
TheseatswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedusingtheTDM
display/controllermaininformationscreens(seaticon);refertoUsingthe
TDMDisplay/ControllerScreensforTroubleshooting(page3–12).Iftesting
determinesthattheswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,
proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheseatswitchharness.
Checktheharnessconnectorsfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepair
ifnecessary.
3.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheswitchharnessterminals.
A.Withnooperatorintheseat,shouldbenocontinuitybetweenthe
terminals.
B.Pressdirectlyontotheseatswitchthroughtheseatcushion.Thereshould
becontinuityastheseatcushionapproachesthebottomofitstravel.
4.Testtheseatswitchharnessandseatswitchseparatelyifnecessary:
A.Removetheseatfromtheseatbox.
