RemovingandInstallingthePTOShaft
IMPORTANT
Tomaintaincorrectshaftbalance,clearlymarkthePTOshaftacross
theslipshaftandthesliptubepriortodisassembly.
1.Removethecuttingunitfromthemachine;refertothecuttingunitOperator’s
Manual.
2.Removethe6capscrewsfromthePTOshaftangeatthePTOclutchand
removetheshaftfromthemachine.
3.WheninstallingthePTOshaftangeatthePTOclutch,applymedium
strengththreadlockingcompoundtothecapscrewsandtightenfrom18to
21N·m(155to185in-lb)inastarpattern.
4.Installthecuttingunittothemachine;refertothecuttingunitOperator’s
Manual.
5.LubricatethePTOshaftgreasettingsbeforereturningthemachineto
service;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatthemarkingsontheslipshaftandsliptubearealigned
whenthePTOshaftisassembled.Misalignmentoftheshaftand
tubewillresultinshortenedshaftbearinglifeandmaycause
unnecessaryvibrationduringcuttingunit(orimplement)operation.
