PrimingtheHydraulicPumps
Wheneverhydraulicuidhasbeendrainedfromthepumps(systemdrain,ush,
orpumpremoval/installation)itisimportanttoproperlyprimethehydraulic
pumps.Primingthehydraulicpumpsensuresthatthegearpumpsandpiston
(traction)pumphavesufcientuidwhilechargingthehydraulicsystem.The
pumpscanbeprimedbyusingaremotestarterswitchtocranktheenginewhich
allowsthepumptoprime;refertoRemoteStarterSwitch(page2–18).
IMPORTANT
Ifthetraction(piston)pumpwasrebuiltorreplaced,makesure
thepumphousingisatleasthalffullofcleanhydraulicuidafter
installation.
1.Makesureallhydraulicconnectionsareproperlytightened.
2.SetthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekeyfromthekey
switch.
3.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddthecorrecttype
andquantityofuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperatorsManual.
4.Removethebatterycoverandraisethehood.
Note:AbluewireconnectstothestartermotorsolenoidB+terminal;refer
toFigure46.Itisnotnecessarytoremovethisbluewirefromthesolenoid
terminaltoconnecttheremotestarterswitch.
5.Connecttheremotestarterswitchelectricalleadstothestartermotor
solenoidB+terminalandpositivepostofthebattery.
