TheTDMdisplay/controllerMainInformationScreenscanbeusedtocheck
theoperationofvariouscomponents.Theneutral,parkingbrake,cuttingunit
lift/lower,seat,andglowplug(model31902and31903)iconsrepresentthe
switchactivityandcanbeusedtoverifytheswitchanditscircuitwiringintegrity.
Thebatteryiconcanbeusedtocheckbatteryvoltageandcircuitwiringintegrity
whentheengineisnotrunning,andtocheckchargingsystemactivityandcircuit
wiringintegritywhentheengineisrunning.
TheTDMdisplay/controllerDiagnostics>Input/Outputscreenscanbeveryhelpful
whentroubleshootingmachineoperationissues.Electricalcomponentsandtheir
circuitwiringcanbeevaluatedquicklyusingtheInput/Outputscreenspriorto
testingthecomponentindividually.TheInput/Outputscreensshowthecurrent
stateoftheinputsandtheoutputsrequiredtoallowthemachinecuttingunit
lift/lower,PTO,andengineoperationtoproceed.RefertoTDMDisplay/Controller
(page6–3)foraguidetothevariousTDMdisplay/controllerscreens.
CAUTION
Itmaybenecessarytostartandruntheengine,raiseandlower
thecuttingunit(orattachments),orotherwiseoperatethemachine
duringthetroubleshootingprocess.Makesurethemachineis
inawellventilatedareaandkeepawayfromthecuttingunit(or
attachments)andallmovingpartswhiletroubleshootingtoprevent
personalinjury.
Ifamachineoperationismalfunctioning,thefollowingprocedurecanhelp
identifythecomponentorcircuitwiringcausingthemalfunction.
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment)if
possibleandstopengine.
2.SetthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition.
3.UsethescreenselectbuttontonavigatetotheTDMdisplay/controller
Diagnostics>Input/Output>Inputscreenforthedesiredmachineoperation.
Enginehasbeenselectedforthisexample.
Manuallyoperatetheinputcomponent.Thecomponentstateontheinput
displayshouldalternateON(check-markinbox)andOFF(emptybox)asthe
componentiscycled.IfONandOFFdonotalternateontheinputdisplay
whileoperatingthecomponent,thecomponentoritscircuitwiringisfaulty
andshouldbetested;refertoTestingtheElectricalComponents(page6–9).
Asanexample;theneutralinputshoulddisplayON(checked)whilethe
tractionpedalisatrest.TheinputshoulddisplayOFF(emptybox)whenthe
tractionpedalispressedineithertheforwardorreversedirection.Theinput
shoulddisplayON(checkedbox)whenthetractionpedalisreleased.Based
ontheinputcheckboxesshowninthisexample(refertoFigure6):
•thetractionpedalisinNeutral
•theoperatorissittingintheseatwhiletestingthetractionpedal
•theparkingbrakeisdisengaged
•theengineisnotrunning
