Themultifunctionswitchisusedtocontroltheoptionalworklights,roadlights,
turnsignals,andhorn.Theswitchislocatedintheoptionalsteeringcolumn
controlpod.
TestingtheMultifunctionSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–64).
3.Toaccesstheswitch,removethecoverfromthesteeringcolumncontrolpod.
4.Disconnectthemachinewireharnessconnectorfromthemultifunction
switch.Checktheswitchandtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosion
andcleanorrepairifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacetheswitchiftestingdeterminesthattheswitchisdamaged.
7.Iftheswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectthemachinewireharnessconnector
totheswitchandinstallthecontrolpodcover.
