Thefanspeedswitchislocatedinthecabheadliner.Theswitchisusedtoselect
thefanspeed(off,low,medium,orhigh).Thefanspeedswitchreceivespower
fromfuseF−2(40Amp)inthecabfuseblock.
TestingtheFanSpeedSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–64).
3.Removetherooffromthecab.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitchandremovethe
switchfromthecontrolpanelifnecessary.Checktheswitchandtheharness
connectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepairifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacetheswitchifnecessary.
7.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Installtheswitch,connectthewireharness,inspectandrepairtheroofseals
ifnecessary,andinstalltheroofaftertesting.
9.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
