2.Ensurethattherollpinintheaxlepivotpinisseatedintheslotsofthe
machineframeandsecurethepivotpinwiththethrustwasherandlocknut.
Tightenthelocknutfrom122to162N·m(90to120ft-lb).Ensurethataxle
pivotsfreelyafterthelocknutistightened.
3.Installthegreasettingintheaxlepivotpin.
4.Placeathrustwasherontotherearwheelspindlepivotshaftandinstall
thespindles.
5.Installthetierodassembly:
A.Checkthetierodassemblylength;refertoAdjustingtheTieRodLength
(RearWheelToe-In)(page7–3).
B.Cleanthetapersofthetierodendsandthetaperedsocketsinthedrag
linkarms.
C.Fitthetierodendsintothedraglinks,tightentheslottednutsandinstall
newcotterpins.
6.Installtherearwheels;refertoRemovingandInstallingtheWheels(page
7–5).
7.Removethejackstandsandlowerthemachinetotheground.
8.Installthesteeringcylinderandadjustthesteeringcylinderrodlengthand
thesteeringstopbolts;refertoInstallingtheSteeringCylinder(page5–99).
9.Installtherearbumperassembly,anypreviouslyremovedweights,andthe
weightlock.
10.Lubricatetherearaxlepivot,rearspindlepivotshafts,tierodends,and
steeringcylinderendsthroughthegreasettingsprovided;refertothe
tractionunitOperator’sManual.
11.Checksteeringoperationbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
