A.Monitorthetesterpressuregaugecarefullywhileslowlyclosingtheow
controlvalveuntil5,516kPa(800psi)isobtainedonthetesterpressure
gauge.
B.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsunderload.
14.Verifythesteeringandliftcircuitreliefvalve(R4)operationasfollows:
A.Openthetesterowcontrolvalvefully.
CAUTION
Whenperformingthetest,donotallowthetesterpressureto
exceed8300kPa(1400PSI).
IMPORTANT
Holdsteeringwheelatfulllockandholdthelift/lowerswitchat
fullraiseonlylongenoughtoobtainasystempressurereading.
B.Openthecircuitreliefvalveviathesteeringsystem.Watchthepressure
gaugeonthetesterandturnthesteeringwheelcompletelyinone
direction.Thecircuitreliefvalveshouldopenjustaftertherearwheel
getstothefulllockposition.Recordthepressureatwhichthereliefvalve
opens.
C.Openthecircuitreliefvalveviatheliftsystem.Watchthepressuregauge
onthetesterandsetthelift/lowerswitchtotheLIFTposition.Momentarily
holdtheswitchwiththecuttingunitfullyraisedcausingthecircuitrelief
valvetoopen.Recordthepressureatwhichthereliefvalveopens.
15.MovethethrottletolowspeedpositionandsetthekeyswitchtotheOFF
position.
16.Theunderloadtestowreading(step13)shouldnotdropmorethan15%
whencomparedtothenoloadtestowreading(step12).Adifferencein
owofmorethan15%(UnderLoad>NoLoadX0.85)mayindicate:
A.Arestrictioninthepumpinletline.
B.Thechargepumpiswornandshouldbereplacedorrepaired;referto
GearPump(P2)(page5–75)orGearPump(P2)Service(page5–78).
17.Thecircuitreliefvalvepressureshouldbe7000to7500kPa(1015to1088
PSI).Ifthereliefpressurecannotbemetorisgreaterthanspecied,the
steeringcontrolvalveisdamagedandshouldbereplacedorrepaired;refer
toSteeringControlValve(page5–95)orSteeringControlValveService
(page5–97).
