12.Recordthelocationofthespringclip(item16)forassemblypurposes.
13.Supportthewheelmotorandremovethefasteners,springclip,andbrake
adapterfromthemachine.
14.Removethewheelmotorfromthemachine.
15.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthewheelmotor,markthe
ttingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethettingsfromthewheel
motoranddiscardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
InstallingtheFrontWheelMotors
IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputthe
rightmotorontheleftsideofthemachine).Ifnecessary,usethe
tractionunitPartsCatalogandpartnumberonthewheelmotorto
identifytherightandleftmotors.Theleftsidewheelmotorsare
identiedwithayellowdotonthemotorhousingneartheBport.
RefertoFigure58forthisprocedure.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Alignandinstallthettingsintothewheel
motorports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThread
O-RingFittings)(page5–9).
2.Fitthewheelmotorandbrakeadaptertotheframeandinstallthepreviously
removedfasteners.
3.Installthespringclipandtightenthefastenersfrom108to122N·m(80
to100ft-lb).
4.Removethecapsandplugsthenconnectthehydraulictubestothewheel
motorttings;refertoInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFace
SealFitting)(page5–7).
5.Installthebrakeplateassemblywiththepreviouslyremovedfasteners.
IMPORTANT
Beforeinstallingthewheelhub,cleanthetapersofthewheelhub
andwheelmotorshaft.Ensurethatthetapersarefreeofgrease,
oil,rust,anddirt.Donotuseanti-seizelubricant,whenyouinstall
thewheelhub.
Donotusethelocknutpreviouslyremovedtoattachthewheelhub
tothewheelmotor.
