6.Installcleancapsandplugsonthehydraulichosesandttingstoprevent
systemcontamination.
7.Recordthewheelmotorlocation(markthewheelmotor)priortoremoval.
8.Removethefastenersandwheelmotorfromthemachine.
9.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthewheelmotor,markthe
ttingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethettingsfromthewheel
motoranddiscardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
InstallingtheRearWheelMotors
IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputthe
rightmotorontheleftsideofthemachine).Ifnecessary,usethe
tractionunitPartsCatalogandpartnumberonthewheelmotorto
identifytherightandleftmotors.Theleftsidewheelmotorsare
identiedwithayellowdotonthemotorhousingneartheBport.
RefertoFigure59forthisprocedure.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Alignandinstallthettingsintothewheel
motorports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThread
O-RingFittings)(page5–9).
2.Fitthewheelmotortothespindleandinstallthepreviouslyremoved
fasteners.Tightenthecapscrewsfrom108to122N·m(80to100ft-lb).
3.Removethecapsandplugsthenconnectthehydraulichosestothewheel
motorttings;refertoInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFace
SealFitting)(page5–7).
4.Cleanthetapersofthewheelhubandwheelmotorshaftandinstallthe
woodruffkeyandwheelhub.Tightenthewheelhublocknutfrom286to
352N·m(211to260ft-lb).
5.Installtherearwheel;refertoRemovingandInstallingtheWheels(page7–5).
6.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
5–62).
