(usually0.5ohmsorless).Thisresistanceisduetotheinternalresistanceof
themeterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefromthemeasuredvaluefor
thetestedcomponent.
5.Usingamultimeter,verifythatcoilresistancebetweenterminals85and86is
from71to88ohms.
6.Connectmultimeter(ohmssetting)leadstorelayterminals30and87.
Groundterminal86andapply+12VDCtoterminal85.Therelayshould
makeandbreakcontinuitybetweenterminals30and87as+12VDCis
appliedandremovedfromterminal85.
7.Connectmultimeter(ohmssetting)leadstorelayterminals30and87A.Apply
+12VDCtoterminal85.Therelayshouldmakeandbreakcontinuitybetween
terminals30and87Aas+12VDCisappliedandremovedfromterminal85.
8.Replacetherelayifnecessary.
9.Iftherelaytestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
10.Connectthewireharness,installanyitemsremovedtoaccesstherelay,and
connectthebatterygroundcable.
