CYLINDER AND PISTONS
• Apply engine oil onto the piston pin.
• Make sure the mark “a” on the piston points to-
wards the exhaust side of the cylinder.
• Reinstall each piston into its original cylinder.
• Before installing the piston pin clip, cover the
crankcase opening with a clean rag to prevent
the piston pin clip from falling into the crank-
case.
• Make sure that the clip ends “b” are positioned
away from the cutout “c” in the piston as shown
in the illustration.
3. Install:
• Dowel pin
• Cylinder gasket
4. Lubricate:
•Piston
• Piston ring
• Cylinder
(with the recommended lubricant)
5. Offset:
• Piston ring end gap
6. Install:
• Cylinder
• Cylinder bolt
• While compressing the piston rings, install the
cylinder.
• Pass the timing chain and timing chain guide
(intake side) through the timing chain cavity.
7. Tighten:
• Cylinder bolt
