TROUBLESHOOTING
• Any of the following fail to light: turn signal light, brake light or an indicator light.
• The horn fails to sound.
• The fuel meter fails to operate.
• The speedometer fails to operate.
• The buzzer fails to sound.
• The V-belt replacement meter fails to operate.
• The ambient temperature meter fails to operate.
• The coolant temperature meter fails to operate.
• The oil change meter fails to operate.
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Front cowling assembly
2. Storage box
3. Fuel tank
4. Footboards
5. Rear side cowling assembly (right)
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, signaling system, ABS mo-
tor, ABS solenoid, ABS ECU,
brake light and backup)
Refer to “CHECKING THE FUS-
ES” on page 8-93.
NG Replace the fuse(s).
OK
2. Check the battery.
Refer to “CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY” on
page 8-94.
NG
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
OK
3. Check the ignition system relay.
Refer to “CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS” on page 8-94.
NG Replace the ignition system relay.
OK
4. Check the entire signaling sys-
tem’s wiring.
Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM” on
page 8-29.
NG
Properly connect or replace the wire har-
ness.
OK
This circuit is OK.
