Configuring the MT8852B Configuration Reference
11-8 PN: 13000-00205 Rev. N MT8852B Operation Manual
RX/TX Settings
Press > “MT8852B” > “RX/TX settings”
This menu allows the user to configure the Rx and Tx settings.
Range: Allows the user to set the MT8852B measuring receiver to a given
range.
Auto is the default setting.
RGH1: +22 to +7 dBm.
RGH 2: +9 to -3 dBm.
RGH 3: +5 to -7 dBm.
RGH 4: -4 to -16 dBm.
RGH 5: -12 to -26 dBm.
RGH 6: -24 to -35 dBm.
FSK modulation index: The modulation index is the Deviation/Modulation rate. For normal
Bluetooth operation this should be set to 0.32. To test an EUT under
other conditions, the modulation index can be set to other values.
The modulation index can be in the range 0.25 to 0.40.
Link timeout: This is the Supervision Link Timeout. The MT8852B disconnects
from the EUT if it sees no communication from the EUT for the
defined period of time. The default value in the Bluetooth core
specification is 20 seconds, but the default value for the MT8852B is
10 seconds so that the user is aware in a reasonable period of time
that the EUT has stopped communicating with the MT8852B.
FSK bandwidth filter: The latest Bluetooth core specification recommends that the FSK
bandwidth of the test instrument is set to 1.3MHz. Early versions of
the Bluetooth core specification permitted the use of a 2 MHz FSK
filter. MT8852B allows the user to select ether FSK filter
bandwidth, but the 1.3 MHz filter is the recommended and default
setting.
