Packet Types
The Bluetooth 5 Specification introduces additional low energy packet types. See Table 7-17.
Tests on 2LE packets require Option 35, and tests on BLR packets require Option 36. The
descriptions and illustrations in this section assume that both options are installed.
Note
A control cable connection (RS232, USB, 2-Wire, USB->RS232 adapter or
USB->2-Wire adapter) is required when performing low energy tests. Refer to
section 6.2 for details. USB to serial adapters must be based on FTDI devices.
Other chips do not work.
Packet Type Description
BLE Bluetooth Low Energy 1 Mbps packet.
2LE Bluetooth Low Energy 2 Mbps packet.
BLR8 Bluetooth Low Energy Long Range packet (LE Coded S=8)
BLR2 Bluetooth Low Energy Long Range packet (LE Coded S=2)
BLR Bluetooth Low Energy Long Range packet, S=8 or S=2.
