Chapter 5 — Test Scripts
5-1 What is a Script?
A script is a group of tests that have been configured for sequential execution when the user
presses .
Scripts can comprise any combination of tests taken from any of the available test groups.
Ten scripts are available on the MT8852B:
Script 1: “QUICKTEST”
Script 1 has been configured to provide the shortest possible test time while still providing
sufficient test coverage to ensure good basic RF performance of the EUT. Test time has been
minimized by limiting the number of packets that are measured for each test case, and by
reducing the number of bits tested during sensitivity measurements.
By default the QUICKTEST script comprises four Basic Rate and four EDR tests. The low
energy test group is also available if required and when selected runs four low energy tests.
Any of the three test groups within the script can be turned on or off as required, but the tests
selected to be run within each group cannot be changed or modified in any way. Script 1 for
Basic Rate and EDR testing typically completes in under ten seconds.
Script 2: “FULLTEST”
Script 2 runs every supported test case exactly as defined in the Bluetooth SIG RF test
specification. This script should be used for full product characterization or long term soak
testing. The test cases are performed in full compliance with the RF test specification
resulting in longer test times.
By default this script comprises nine Basic Rate and six EDR tests. The low energy test
group is also available if required and when selected runs six low energy tests. Any of the
three test groups within the script can be turned on or off as required, but the tests selected to
be run within each group cannot be changed or modified in any way. Depending on the
features supported by the EUT, script 2 typically takes over 2 minutes to complete.
Scripts 3 to 10
Scripts 3 to 10 are unlocked and can be freely configured by the user to match requirements
for test coverage and total test time. The default settings for scripts 3 to 10 are the same as
for script 2.
