Configuring a Script Test Scripts
5-8 PN: 13000-00205 Rev. N MT8852B Operation Manual
Configuring Script Specific Settings
Each script allows the user to configure a number of settings to determine how the script is
run. These settings include items to specify the script mode (standard, single payload, or Null
packet), the Tx power level, and the use of a path offset.
1. Select the script to be run as detailed previously.
2. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor at the script number.
3. Press [Setup] to display the script setup page shown below.
4. Specify the script mode.
Press to toggle the script mode setting between "Standard", "Null Packet", and
"Single Payload".
In Standard mode, the MT8852B uses full Test Mode signalling (as defined in chapter
2) and all the defined test controls to test the EUT in the fastest and most efficient way
possible. Standard mode is the default setting, although it should be noted that for
devices with only a limited implementation of test mode functionality, operation in
standard mode may result in the EUT dropping the link or failing to respond to
commands from the MT8852B. In this case, select single payload or Null packet
operation.
In Single payload mode, the MT8852B uses Test Mode signalling but in a very
restricted manner. This is ideal when the EUT does not yet have a full Test Mode
implemented, and the repetitive signalling in standard mode could cause it to fail or
drop the link.
In Null packet mode the MT8852B does not use Test Mode signalling at all, and makes
only a limited subset of tests on packets without payloads. This mode can be used to
enable indicative tests to be made on EUTs that have no test mode support. Tests are
not performed in accordance with the Bluetooth test specification.
5. Enter the "TX power level" value using the keypad.
TX power level sets the RF power of the MT8852B transmitter. This power level is
used for link setup in all tests except EUT receiver sensitivity and maximum input
power. The transmission power level can be set to between 0 and -90 dBm.

Note
“Script mode” must be set to “Standard” if low energy measurements are included
in the script.
