The page shown below displays when the MT8852B is powered on.
Test Groups
There are line items for each of the Bluetooth test groups: “Basic Rate”, “Enhanced Data
Rate”, and “Low energy”.
Basic Rate
Basic Rate transmissions use Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying (GFSK) modulation with a
data rate of 1 Mbit/s. Nine Basic Rate tests are available on the MT8852B.
Enhanced Data Rate (EDR)
EDR transmissions use a combination of GFSK and Phase Shift Keying (PSK) modulation
with two variants (/4-DQPSK and 8DPSK) to achieve data rates of 2 and 3 Mbit/s. Six EDR
tests are available on the MT8852B.
Low Energy
Formerly known as “Wibree” and “Ultra Low Power”, low energy tests were added to the
Bluetooth specification in 2009. Low energy is designed specifically for small, predominantly
coin-cell battery powered devices for which low power-consumption and low cost are the
primary concerns. Low energy test packets are used in all low energy tests, refer to Appendix
H for details. Six Bluetooth low energy tests are available on the MT8852B.
