16-2 EDR Measurements
Relative Transmit Power (TP/TRM/CA/BV-10-C)
This test ensures that the difference in average transmit power during the frequency
modulated [GFSK] and phase modulated [DPSK] parts of a packet is within the range
specified below.

Carrier Frequency Stability (TP/TRM/CA/BV-11-C)
This test verifies the transmitter carrier frequency stability and modulation accuracy. The
measurement results must fulfill the following conditions.
Average frequency error of the GFSK portion of the EDR packet - 

Modulation Accuracy
In this measurement, the payload is divided into blocks of 50 s and the DEVM is measured
for each symbol in the block. The pass criteria for this test are as follows.
RMS DEVM  0.20 for all /4-DQPSK blocks
RMS DEVM  0.13 for all 8DPSK blocks
Peak DEVM  0.35 for all /4-DQPSK symbols
Peak DEVM  0.25 for all 8DPSK symbols
99% DEVM  0.30 for 99% of /4-DQPSK symbols
99% DEVM  0.20 for 99% of 8DPSK symbols
Differential Phase Encoding (TP/TRM/CA/BV-12-C)
In this measurement the EUT transmits a packet with a defined PRBS9 payload. The
payload of the received packet is demodulated and compared with the defined ideal packet to
give a resultant symbol error rate. The Bluetooth RF test specification stipulates that zero
errors are detected in 99% of 100 packets transmitted.
Guard Interval
The guard time is defined as the period starting at the end of the last GFSK symbol of the
header and ending at the start of the reference symbol of the synchronization sequence. The
length of the guard time must be between 4.75 s and 5.25 s.
